Lowertown sounds — frequently asked questions

  • Lowertown Sounds takes place at Mears Park, 221 5th Street East in St. Paul, MN.

  • Lowertown Sounds takes place most Thursdays throughout the summer. Music starts at 6:00 p.m. and goes until about 10:00 p.m.. Check out our schedule for more details! (Times and schedule subject to change)

  • Admission to Lowertown Sounds is free thanks to our generous sponsors.

  • Typically the openers play between 6:15-7:30 p.m.. The headliner typically goes on around 8 p.m.

  • Absolutely! We have a variety of food trucks at every event as well as a beverage trailer selling local craft beers and wine. Check out our schedule to see which food trucks will be available each night. (Schedule subject to change)

  • Outside food as well as outside non-alcoholic beverages are allowed.

  • There is both paid street parking and parking ramps available around Mears Park such as Mears Park Place Parking, Lowertown Ramp, and 255 E 6th St. Garage.

  • There is very limited seating available in the park. We encourage everyone to bring their own chairs and/or blankets to sit on and enjoy the show.

  • Yes, all of our shows are family-friendly!

  • Yes, we have porta potties on site.

  • Lowertown Sounds is a pet-friendly event! There are plenty of pets in attendance at every show. Just a friendly reminder, please have your pet on a leash and clean up after them.

  • In conjunction with the city of St. Paul and the National Weather Service, we monitor weather very closely leading up to events. If we do need to cancel a show, we will announce it on the Lowertown Sounds social channels by 2:00 p.m. the day of the show.

  • Submissions for the 2026 season are officially closed.

  • We have spots for food trucks every night, from 5:30–9:30p.m. We reserve this street specifically for food trucks, so we do require a fee for every night you are booked for Lowertown Sounds.

    2026 bookings are closed, but you can still submit your truck to our database. Please fill out this form to be considered for the series in the future.
